The touching tribute Kate Middleton makes to Princess Diana with jewellery choices

PRINCESS DIANA left her jewellery to her sons upon her death in 1997, and now several iconic gems from Diana's collection are worn by Kate, Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle. Two specific jewellery items have been worn by Kate on several occasions in a touching tribute to her late mother-in-law.

Since joining the Royal Family in 2011, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge has worn several royal jewels, to the envy of royal fans. Kate wore the Queen's Cartier Halo Tiara for her wedding to Prince William in 2011. But it is one tiara famously associated with Princess Diana that has become a firm favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge in recent years.

At royal engagements, Princess Diana would often wear the Lover's Knot Tiara.

The beautiful pearl tiara became associated with the Princess of Wales during her lifetime, but it actually belonged to the Queen.

Yet, Diana put her own twist on the crown by blending it with her own studs, the Collingwood pearl hoops.

Lately, the Duchess of Cambridge has every now and again wore precisely the same studs and headdress group while finishing illustrious commitment.

Furthermore Kate's choice to wear her late relative well known pearls can be viewed as a contacting accolade for Diana.

Express.co.uk addressed Fiona Wellington, pearl and adornments purchaser and co-chief/co-architect at Myne London, about Diana's renowned gems that Kate presently wears.

Ms Wellington said: "The popular Collingwood Pearl hoops have been worn by the Duchess of Cambridge on many events, yet were initially a wedding gift from the Collingwood goldsmiths.

"[The hoops were] astutely made to supplement the great Lovers Knot Tiara worn again by both Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge.
