How Long Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle get on Parental Leave?

The royal couple issued a press release about their planned leave through Archewell Foundation.

Royal baby Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor gets to enjoy both of her parents' undivided attention (aside from her big brother Archie that is) for subsequent few months. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they're going to get on parental leave through a press release on their foundation, Archewell's website.

It's a luxury the couple didn't get to enjoy the primary time around with their son, Archie, in 2019. Although there have been reports that Harry would take a two-week paternity leave (the standard within the UK) when Archie was born, he was on a flight to Netherlands for the Invictus Games just three days later. Meghan wasn't left on her own—her mother, Doria Ragland, stayed with her—but we will imagine the toll it might have taken on the new dad.

With both of her children, Meghan took a while before parturition then took approximately four months of maternity leave for Archie. Typically, the royalty follows an equivalent parental leave as British citizens: six months for maternity and fortnight for paternity. However, Prince William and Kate didn't always follow this edict either. Kate only took one month after Prince George was born, five months for Princess Charlotte, and 6 months for Prince Louis. William took fortnight for his first two children, and none in the least for Louis, which resulted in him dozing off at an occasion two days later—whoops.

Now that Harry and Meghan have stepped faraway from their royal duties, they are not obligated appear for events or follow any protocols. While they haven't shared how long they're going to get on parental leave, Archewell will still be travel by their team. We wish the new parents the simplest during these first few months with Lili!
